Every environment in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life is the result of a huge collaborative effort from the Rare team.
I worked on A Pirate's Life for about 6 months across three of its levels, taking them from design whiteboxes to a visually finished state.

This section was introduced post-launch, as part of a larger hotfix, to address issues with players progressing through Tale 3. It's an extension to the start of The Whispering Bayou at the start, teaching the player to navigate their ship through the environment rather than stepping out and rowing the entire section or even the tale.

I took this area from simple design whitebox and notes to finished art, trying to match the style of the rest of the Bayou while also fulfilling the designer's intentions.
